WASHINGTON – The Society of Professional Journalists has recognized its chapter at the University of Central Florida as Outstanding Campus Chapter.
The chapter is being recognized because of its discussions on journalism ethics, diversity and inclusion, its workshops for students devoted to resumes and interviewing skills, as well as an active presence on Instagram and its promotion of activities through a bi-weekly newsletter. This is the first official year that the chapter at UCF has been active.
The UCF chapter was also recognized with Arkansas Tech University as winners of the Campus Program of the Year award.
The UCF was one of four finalists for the Campus Chapter of the Year – the other three were Stony Brook University, Arkansas Tech University and Ohio University.
UCF was honored during the Student Summit and Awards Program at MediaFest22, SPJ’s annual convention. Read more about the selection process and past winners.
