SPJ announces 2023 professional chapter regional honorees

INDIANAPOLIS – The Society of Professional Journalists is delighted to announce a select group of professional chapters that are being honored for their work in advancing the Society’s principles and mission, as well as the journalism profession itself.
Annually, SPJ’s 12 regional coordinators select professional chapters in their respective region that have shown overall excellence. The Pro Chapter of the Year Awards finalists will be chosen from these regional winners.
SPJ is delighted to announce the following winners:
Region 1: New England Pro Chapter
Region 2: Virginia Pro Chapter
Region 3: SPJ Florida — Professional Chapter
Region 4: Greater Cincinnati Pro Chapter
Region 5: Chicago Headline Club and Indiana Pro Chapter
Region 7: St. Louis Pro Chapter
Region 8: Fort Worth Pro Chapter
Region 9: Colorado Pro Chapter
Region 11: Greater Los Angeles Pro Chapter and Valley of the Sun Pro Chapter
Region 12: Northwest Arkansas Pro Chapter
The 2023 Pro Chapter of the Year Awards finalists will be announced later this week, and the winners of Large Chapter of the Year and Small Chapter of the Year will be announced during the Opening Business Meeting at the SPJ23 Journalism Convention in Las Vegas on Sept. 28.
Large Chapter of the Year is open to chapters with 75 members or more, while Small Chapter of the Year is open to chapters with fewer than 75 members.
