NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Join us for the next edition of Studio SPJ at noon ET on Tuesday, Sept. 2 to talk about the debate over changing the Society of Professional Journalists' name.
Michael Koretzky, SPJ's Region 3 director, will be the guest for the second broadcast in the series to talk about the debate over changing SPJ's name from the Society of Professional Journalists to the Society for Professional Journalism. This is a topic that came up during last year's Excellence in Journalism 2013 conference in Anaheim and will be discussed again later this week at Excellence in Journalism 2014 in Nashville, Tenn.
Another topic that will be discussed on the broadcast will be about a creative program that the Florida Pro chapter has run in recent years called Will Write for Food. On Labor Day weekend, a group of college journalists from across the country gathered to take over the nation’s second-largest homeless newspaper to assemble an entire 24-page issue in 36 hours.
Have a question for Koretzky? Call in live during the 30-minute program at 347-857-2441.
Listen to the program live or hear it later as a podcast here.
