SPJ chapters honored with Circle of Excellence Awards

INDIANAPOLIS — The Society of Professional Journalists has distinguished 10 of its professional chapters with Circle of Excellence Awards, a collection of awards that recognize outstanding work in First Amendment/Freedom of Information, professional development, chapter communications, diversity and campus relations.

Chapters with 75 or more members are eligible for Large Circle of Excellence Awards and Small Circle of Excellence Awards are for chapters with fewer than 75 members.

Large Circle of Excellence

Chapter Communication: Los Angeles Pro
Campus Relations: Colorado Pro
Diversity: Chicago Headline Club
First Amendment & FOI: NorCal Pro
Professional Development: Minnesota Pro

Small Circle of Excellence

Chapter Communication: Cleveland Pro
Campus Relations: Hawaii Pro
Diversity: Georgia Pro
First Amendment & FOI: Rio Grande Pro
Professional Development: Utah Headliners

Winning chapters will be honored during the Opening Business Session at Excellence in Journalism 2016 in New Orleans. Read more about selection and past winners here.
