Gain Experience, Valuable Professional Network As Staff Member for The Working Press

Looking for daily newspaper experience?

SPJ is searching the globe for 12 bright, motivated, and hardworking student journalists to staff The Working Press Sept. 12-14 at the 2002 SPJ National Convention in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Working Press interns produce a daily tabloid newspaper covering convention events. Student writers, photographers, and designers are needed.

Students provide:
-- Energy, talent, great ideas, and a good attitude
-- Their transportation to and from Fort Worth
-- Photographers: bring your own gear

SPJ provides:
-- Free convention registration, including event meals
-- Free accommodations at convention hotel
-- Mentoring by professional journalists
-- Networking venues
-- A place to showcase your talents in front of a sea of professionals (many with extraordinary hiring power)
-- An opportunity to add to your portfolio
-- A fun experience

Other notes:
-- Plan to arrive in Fort Worth by noon on Sept. 11.
-- Departure will be after noon on Sept. 15.
