It’s Sigma Delta Chi Day — a day to celebrate SPJ’s 6,000+ members and invest in programs that educate, advocate and inspire the work they do.

In 1909, 10 journalism students rallied around the idea of ethical standards and professional support for each other. They called their new organization Sigma Delta Chi. Since then, thousands of individuals have joined this movement under its new name: Society of Professional Journalists.

Over the last 113 years, SPJ has left its handprints on the careers of many throughout journalism.

The editor of Quill, the magazine of the Society of Professional Journalists, he is host of the podcast "Lou Harry Gets Real," which is recorded in front of a live audience.
