Congress is considering the Free Flow of Information Act, and SPJ President Sonny Albarado is calling upon all members to take a few minutes this week to contact their two U.S. senators to urge them to pass a federal shield law. It's quick and easy. Just go to to find information about what to say to your senators via phone or email, what to post on social media and how to color the map green.

Yes, you can have lunch (and breakfast) and a full day of training in Washington D.C. for a reasonable price. How reasonable? Does $35 sound good?

If so, join SPJ's JournCamp at the Westin D.C. to learn skills such as data mining and coding - both of which are becoming more important for all journalists. Also, learn from Pulitzer-prize winner Tom Hallman on how to become a better storyteller. There's limited room, and registration closes Monday, June 17. See session details and register at Questions?  Email Scott Leadingham.

The Excellence in Journalism Conference in Southern California is right around the corner. Organizations such as,Donald W. We're also happy to welcome Kara Hackett to 3909 N. Meridian. She'll be with us over the summer as the Pulliam/Kilgore Freedom of Information intern, during which time she'll write and research about important FOI and press freedom issues. She's quite nice. Really. For an idea of what she'll be doing this summer, read herintroductory post on the FOI FYI blog. Get to know her, and stay in touch or contact her with ideas/questions. You can reach her or 317-927-8000 ext. 213.

To keep Oklahoma residents updated about the location of this week's tornadoes, journalists and meteorologists turned to social media. Name one of the streets that news organizations tweeted out.

Answer: Many - some of which were Sunnylane Rd., 104th St., Bryant Ave., S.W. 119th St., Interstate 35, S.W. 149 St., Hudson Ave., Interstate 44.

And the winner is ... Jenifer Crane from Phoenix! Congratulations.

Today (May 29, 2013), a new edition AP Stylebook was released to mark its anniversary. How old does the AP Stylebook turn this year?
